Yoryu Silk

Material character

Material character.

Judge the silk family by lustre, drape, hand and the specification that matches the intended use.

Hand

Soft with a dry, lightly grainy crepe touch. Less slick than satin, with more tactile surface character than a smooth plain weave.

Drape

Fluid and light with soft movement. The longitudinal crepe texture adds dimension while supporting graceful gathers, layers and flowing silhouettes.

Lustre

Low to soft lustre. The textured surface diffuses reflected light rather than producing the smooth, continuous shine associated with satin.

Specification

Lightweight to very lightweight. Fine lengthwise crepe lines create a softly crinkled surface; transparency varies by weight, construction and colour.
